Houston bronze Learns
Members of Houston Bronze has had the privilege of working with many fine handbell directors. We always enjoy the opportunity to learn from them. The ensemble invites other directors to come to us for workshops; members attend available workshops nationally and regionally; and many members regularly attend events such as Distinctly Bronze. Each of these is done as we continue to improve our ringing skills as individuals and as an ensemble.
Houston bronze teaches
Houston Bronze is committed to encouraging other handbell ringers. The ensemble has taught at events such as Rookie Ringer, August Adventure, and FebFest, and Back to Bells when invited. Beyond these events we have sought out ways to share what we know about ringing and our love for this art form by working with the Brookwood Community Handbell Ensemble, offering workshops throughout the Houston area with our Build a Bell Workshop program, sponsoring Summer Ring events, and working with area high schools as they prepare music for contest. We offer a variety of classes to help ringers in the Houston community to learn skills and techniques needed to be successful ringers. To learn more about our education programs, contact us at info@houstonbronze.org.
Houston bronze offers scholarships
In 2017, HBE took steps toward building the future of handbell ringing through a new scholarship program. We granted three scholarships to College Ring In. We have continued to do this each year and have now given a total of 13 scholarships to this event. We are happy that we can encourage young ringers as they learn the techniques and skills to carry into their future ringing experiences. If you would like to support the continued granting of scholarships, please consider making a donation to the ensemble and designate your gift to be used for educational purposes.
