2022 COLLEGE RING-IN SCHOLARSHIPS
Due to Covid there was not a Ring-In in 2021. In 2022, College Ring-In was held in conjunction with the International Seminal held in Nashville, Tennessee. Our scholarship recipient, Lois, joined us from Hong Kong. Once again we had members in attendance who were able to meet her and attend the concert.
Words from Lois about her experience:"Hello everyone! This is Lois from Hong Kong. Thank you to Houston Bronze for supporting me to join the College Ring-In and it was such a great experience that I would like to share with you!Our rehearsal started on 30 July, with I see the Light under the baton of Mr.Yoshida(吉田先生！). I got goosebumps as I was thrilled that ringers all over the world (fyi we have US, Brazil, Iceland and Hong Kong in this team!) are gathering together after the two years of pandemic. The sound of the bells and the power from all my friends just heal my heart at that time.We had a half day rehearsal on 30th, a full day rehearsal on 31st, and a final run through on 1st. We had so much fun (and sometimes panic and frustration, maybe ) while we are working together in these 3 days. I am truly amazed with how powerful our conductors, Mr. Yoshida and Dr. Payn, are in this journey. I am also happy to see how our team got better and better in the program, not just ringing all the notes, but making and bringing music to everyone in the ballroom.I am so happy to be able to travel, to meet everyone here in the College Ring-In program and the Symposium, and to make music with everyone of you!
